Russ is best known for his Spanish/Latin style guitar. Whether he's opening for Josh Groban at the Robert Mondavi Winery in Napa, playing to 10,000 people at a charity event for Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, a gala for Trammell S. Crow, with a Symphony Orchestra, or a private event for two, his music is listener friendly and accessible. From sweeping ballads to mid and uptempo songs, any set list can be customized to what the occasion requires.

Combining lightning guitar runs with unique rhythms provides an electrifying combination in Russ Hewitt's original music. Russ explains his style of play as "Fusing Spanish, Flamenco, jazz, Latin, Cuban and Brazilian together simultaneously without worrying about what particular rules that go with each style. This allows me the freedom to create without boundaries."

Russ can play Solo, Duo, Trio. (all with the option of backing tracks) or a Full Band along with the following instruments in any configuration: Violin, Percussion, Rhythm guitar, Drums, Bass, Hand drums, or any instrument you can think of.

Holding a performance degree from University of North Texas, Russ is also a voter for the Grammy's and Latin Grammy's.  His recordings has resulted in multiple Top 40 Jazz singles, Grammy consideration, and has received reviews and press from all around the world including the cover of CUTAWAY Guitar magazine out of Spain and a three-page feature in Italy's biggest print guitar magazine - Guitar Club magazine. Russ was part of the 2023 class inducted in the INDIE MUSIC HALL OF FAME.

Russ has also played and recorded worldwide with symphonies, orchestras and philharmonics with his original music.
